George Lilanga Dinyama
A sculptor and a painter of Makonde tribe origin, he is the best known of all the Tanzanian contemporary artists. He does not belong to the Tingatinga movement or school, but when painting (using ceiling board and enamel paints), his renderings of Swahili mashetani (little devils) have the familiar look of Tingatinga paintings.

Hendric John Lilanga
George Lilanga’s grandson (Mchanga by the father and Makonde by the mother’s side, from which he retained the Lilanga family name) he has learned to draw and paint from his illustrious parent; hence pictures show a great deal of similarity with Lilanga’s, although Henrick is not a sculptor, prefers to use water colors & ball pen / paper as media and observes a graphic code of honor to avoid any possible collusion.
